Both his parents worked in a small vegetable business and earned small amount of gil each day and with that gil paid for Biggs to learn karate. Unfortunately money became tight until eventually they couldn’t afford for him to learn anymore. Biggs was 17 at the time and decided from then on to help train others to fight to pay back his debt to his parents but wishes more than anything that he will be able to do something more worth while with his life.
